Alberto "Big Boy Reynoso" was born on May 14, 1940 in Bang Bang , Pasig Rizal which is now called Pasig City. The first of ten children of Pastor De Leon Reynoso and Isabel Intalan Cangco Reynoso. He attended Rizal High School and was encouraged to play basketball because he was tall for a high school student. He then got spotted by Jaime Lucas who was one of the key instruments of his basketball career. He recruited him to play for San Beda College and was instrumental in the Red Lion run for the 1959 and 1960 NCAA title. He was under 2 great coaches, Tata Carranceja and Arturo Rius where he learned a lot about the fundamentals of the game. He had dedication, sacrifice and discipline that made him a complete player he was. He worked hard at school and worked hard at their practices as well. Big Boy was one of Philippine basketball's wide bodies only 6'2 210-220 lbs. and developed the skill of limiting opponents of rebounding the ball. He was a complete player who sets up solid screens with his wide frame, rebounding, assist and follow up missed shots. He played and guarded taller players and showed no fear. Big Boy look back at times even wonder why he end up playing basketball. He really wanted to be an Airplane Pilot. And Also being born and raise in Pasig, he spent much of his urchin days swimming and playing in the river, Pasig river they use to say, he also wanted to be a swimmer. Big Boy was the greatest! On and off the court down to earth person who never forgot where he came from. He retired and lived a private life with his family and 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren in the U.S.. He was BLESSED with AMAZING GRACE.
